Volunteer Manager Responsibilities

  • Management of the AIRT and DRONERESPONDERS volunteer program and activities.

  • Development and implementation of polices and best practices along with related technologies.

  • Maintaining budget and tracking expenditures including volunteer time.

Job Brief
 

AIRT is seeking a highly-motivated and dedicated Volunteer Manager to spearhead the day-to-day operations of our volunteer program.

 

The Volunteer Manager works closely with all team members to proactively recruit and retain talented individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill sets to support the AIRT and DRONERESPONDERS non-profit mission.

The ideal candidate will be well-organized, have exceptional time management skills, and be able to communicate effectively in a virtual, team-based environment with little guidance. Knowledge and a passion for the unmanned systems, aviation or disaster response sectors a strong plus. 
 

The goal of the Volunteer Manager is to ensure that AIRT and DRONERESPONDERS are always staffed with the best and most reliable individuals, and that they are correctly utilized for the fulfillment of our non-profit mission.
 

Responsibilities

  • Project a dynamic and positive image of AIRT and DRONERESPONDERS

  • Source and recruit volunteers through various techniques (databases, e-mail, social media etc.)

  • Collect schedule and skill set information

  • Arrange for appropriate training when needed

  • Produce schedules for designated activities

  • Assign responsibilities to the right people for events and deployments

  • Coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale actions

  • Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed

  • Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events

  • Keep detailed records of volunteers’ information and assignments

  • Εnsure the purpose of the organization and its actions is clearly communicated

  • Work with other team members to achieve organizational objectives

     

Training, Skills, Knowledge and Experience Requirements

  • Passionate about people and purpose

  • Proven work experience as a Volunteer Coordinator, Operations Manager, or similar role

  • Experience in volunteering locally and/or internationally

  • Experience in recruiting through various channels

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Working knowledge of databases, MS Office, and/or Google Suite

  • Able to communicate effectively with diverse people

  • Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities

  • A pleasant, outgoing personality

  • BSc/BA in business administration, human resources, social studies or relevant field will be appreciated


Compensation
 

  • Based on time commitment and experience.
